Farmin Friday
This morning we woke up early and headed to Asheville, NC. First stop - Farmer's Market! We had a great time perusing the different shops, finding some cool sweatshirts, hats, fruits and veggies, and sooo much more!
We started off our mini-concert with a fun rendition of Siyahamba as we marched our light of God up and down the Farmer's market - what a great way to show our light for the world!
We sang a few more songs for the vendors and customers at the Farmers Market and then went exploring a little more. We found some peppers and decided to take a picture with our own Pepper.
We had a great lunch at the Moose Cafe afterwards - what a cool place to eat!
Next we headed to the NC Baptist Western Retirement Home where Pepper pepped up the crowd once again by getting them to swing around their hands and marching along with us during Siyahamba. The All-Staters seemed to really connect with the senior adults after the concert. Among other things, they connected over favorite singers, common birthplaces, and a love of music. Such a great opportunity for ministry!
When we arrived at FBC Weaverville, we took a moment to debrief and the All-Staters took a moment to talk about some of the moments that were the most meaningful to them over the week so far. Many people really enjoyed making connections at the senior center and others made good connections at the Farmer's Market. It was great to hear about these moments of ministry!
After an excellent pasta dinner and a short warm-up, the concert wrapped up the evening!
It was definitely the best concert so far, with the All-Staters really beginning to get into the music. They are making connections with the songs and to the different concerts and people they have met throughout the week. It is really amazing to see how this brings the music to life from night to night and throughout the week. If you haven't already, you HAVE to come see them! The passion, joy, and love for music and God shown by the All-Staters is truly inspirational!
