Summit Saturday

Summit Saturday

Yessss! Saturday has arrived! Today we climbed to the summit of Mt. Mitchell! All 6,683 feet. Climbed up the whole mountain. It was so tough! Haha not really - our excellent drivers drove us right up to the top of the mountain. The roads seemed a bit precarious at times, but we made it to the parking lot and hiked the last few hundred meters to the top. At the top we even sang a little bit of Hold On to the Rock. People kept making puns about being on a big rock while singing Hold On to the Rock.

After coming down off the mountain, we sang another little concert with Pepper on the guitar. The people who had come to see the top of the mountain today were pleasantly surprised to hear some beautiful Jesus harmonies! We saw some of them while hiking later and they were so appreciative that we came out on a Saturday to spread our light to world.

We found a bunch of macho men at summit. We asked them how they got so strong, and they said they had been "Holding On to the Rock." #confused

Before heading to FBC Morganton, we stopped at the J. Iverson Riddle Center to visit with, sing, and minister to the residents there. They were really getting into the music! We got to go around the campus and help to bring them to the gym for the concert. It was a great time to get to know the residents and really be the light for the world!

Pew naps, dinner, and rehearsal - all in a typical Saturday afternoon of an All-Stater!

And another great concert is in the books! We are so grateful to FBC Morganton for their incredible hospitality and the amazing dinner. There was a packed house and the All-Staters really got into the music tonight. The final concert tomorrow night at Ardmore Baptist in Winston-Salem at 6pm will be better than you could ever imagine. I know I'll see ya there!

P.S. Apparently I do this a bunch? At least that's what they tell me. If you come to the final concert, you might see this face.
