Touring Thursday

Touring Thursday

And we finally made it to our first full day of touring!! After an early wake-up, we loaded the buses and headed off to Mt. Anderson Baptist Church. The church is right beside Christian Tours, the bus company that All-State has used for forever. We got to sing for some of the staff and owners! We were honored to be able to share our music with the people who have helped us for so many years.

We then headed over to East Maiden Baptist Church where we were fed a delicious meal. We sang them a couple songs to show our gratitude!

After jumping back on the bus again, we headed to the Ebenezer Christian Children's Home. They performed a skit for us and we sang for them. Pepper had us doing all kinds of dance moves to get the kids into it.

Afterwards they treated us to some ice cream and we hung out on the playground! Many of the All-Staters made friends with the children at the home and made comments about how meaningful it was to get to sing to and get to know the children afterwards.

On what seemed like our 28th bus ride of the day, we took selfies and played bingo! There were lots of friendships deepened, fun had, and naps taken. It really felt like we were on the road for a long time today, but we did get around the state quite a bit!

Eventually we made it to FBC Boone where we were heartily greeted and the All-Staters took a shorts naps on the pews. It's a good thing Baptist churches cover their pews in nice, soft cushions!

A short rehearsal later for us eating a great dinner of fried chicken and mashed potatoes that surely must have been made in heaven. And after the now infamous "gray polo" hunt, the All-Staters lined up for their evening concert.

It was great to have many recent and a few less recent alumi join us for Write Your Blessed Name!

Another day in the books filled with love, music, and lots of traveling. We have been blessed with great weather, food, fellowship, and ministry opportunities. Continue to be in prayer for the All-Staters and leaders - that we continue to make a positive impact for the kingdom of God through our words, actions, and music. Tomorrow we are off to Asheville and Weaverville!
