All-State's Got Talent

All-State's Got Talent

Today started off much the same with Kheresa Harmon sharing another excellent devotion. We were challenged not to think that, "God will love you in spite of yourself," but that God lovingly created each of us and that we are the light for the world. Let us not hide or dim our lights, but shine them for everyone to see! Such an important thing for us to remember as we go about our daily lives!

Then we followed up with a little bit of sectionals - the men were obviously hard at work!

After coming back together, Pepper had everyone pull out their cell phones and sing "I Am the Light." Every time a section sang the word light, they were to raise their light high - it was truly a sight to see!

We also head from our extremely talented instrumentalists and many of our soloists for the first time today. If you like instrumental parts, these All-Staters will bring you to the verge of tears! So beautiful!

The choir grew in huge leaps and bounds yesterday and began singing many of their selections completely from memory. There was lots of movin', groovin', and just an overall feeling of joy as the All-Staters could see the concert begin to come together.

Before free time was picture time - group and family photos will be revealed later in the week! Following that, some All-Staters climbed the rock wall. People kept yelling, "Hold on to the Rock" - I can't quite figure out why though....

It rained most of the afternoon here at Gardner Webb, but that doesn't stop the fun at All-State! More practicing for the talent show, jam sessions, ninja, and just some great group bonding time!

Have you heard of America's Got Talent? Well, All-State's Got Talent would rival that show. From dancing and signing, to dramatic speaking and instrumental solos, the talent show had it all!

The All-Staters were even moved to the point of a "phone swing". The atmosphere was alive with the love and joy of Christ as the All-Staters were supporting their friends.

Woah, what a day it was! It's hard to believe all that happened in one day! The choir has come so far musically, and it seems like the All-Staters have been friends for years! Tomorrow we start touring in Shelby, NC! Make plans to see at least one concert because these youth have been pouring their every effort into this music and the outcome will be truly life changing! Hope to see you soon!
